We often lose celebrities too early because of tragic deaths, and some of these tragic and unexpected deaths can sting a little more than others. On Dec. 8, 2019, Jarad Higgins, better known as Juice Wrld, was at Chicago’s Midway airport when he was stopped by federal law enforcement. As the federal agents were searching the private jet, Higgins suffered from a seizure and later passed away at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois. He had  just turned 21 years old six days prior.

December is a month where Juice Wrld fans celebrate his life the most because December is not only the month that he died, but also his birth month. This past December, Juice Wrld’s team has come together to drop a single, an album, host a Juice Wrld tribute concert, and a documentary.

The highly anticipated album called “Fighting Demons” was finally released on Dec. 10, 2021 and fans liked it. “Burn is my favorite song on the project because it has really strong lyrics and I have been listening to it for the past 8 months on Soundcloud,” senior Matthew Gutierrez said.

Soundcloud is a popular music streaming service that people can post their music to. Juice Wrld has hundreds of unreleased songs that have been leaked on Soundcloud.

The new documentary called “Into the Abyss” came out on Dec. 12, 2021 and fans couldn’t wait to see it. “I am excited but it is also so sad because we never saw that side of Juice and never saw how bad his addiction was and how badly he needed help,” senior Logan Hopper said.

The new documentary shows fans the unseen footage of Juice’s everyday life and shows how bad his addiction was. The documentary is very sad to watch, but fans say it is great to watch to fully understand the struggles that Jarad went through.

The documentary is currently streaming on HBO Max. “The documentary really shows the side of Juice Wrld that nobody saw. The documentary goes in depth about his mental illnesses and how bad he struggled with addiction. Watching the documentary really opened a new perspective for me and how I view Juice Wrld,” senior Ben Sroor said.

Juice Wrld is so loved by his fans because of the way that he delivered his music in such an emotional way. He would pour his entire soul into his music which made him so successful. “It makes the listeners feel like they are not alone and that it is more of a therapy session and a voice for people who can’t express their feelings,” said Gutierrez. “His music is truly timeless and generations will be listening to his music forever.”
