The 2011 DreamWorks movie Puss in Boots starring Antonio Banderas as Puss and Salma Hayek as Kitty Soft Paws, has just released another Puss in Boots called The Last Wish.

This movie also stars Banderas and Hayek, but also introduces a new character, Goldilocks, starring Florence Pugh. “I think the new character Goldilocks really tied the story together and made it really funny. She was great with Puss in the movie,” junior Liem Funk said.

The original movie follows the main character Puss before the events of the movie Shrek. Puss is a suspected bank robber and has to leave town. He teams up with his best friend Humpty and the two steal a goose that lays golden eggs. “This one was actually really cool and funny. The story was interesting as well but still very entertaining,” junior Chase Mitchell said. 

Although the second movie is much different than the first, the movie still follows the same characters. In this movie, Puss, who has nine lives, finds out he only has one more life. He goes on an adventure to find the Mythical Last Wish and restore his nine lives. “This one was actually super good. I liked this one way more than the last one,” Mitchell said.

With the first movie only getting a 6.6/10 on IMBd, Puss in Boots: the Last Wish got a 7.9/10. “I think this rating for the movies is completely accurate, especially because the new movie has a way better storyline,” Funk said.

Teens around the world have been coming to watch these animated movies. They have gotten more popular among the years and are succeeding tremendously. “I think the movies are getting better and more popular, especially the animated movies because they are getting really funny,” Funk said.
