Senior Isabelle Nowak is not only an academic weapon but also one of the best swimmers at Greendale High School. Many excel in the classroom or excel at their sport, but Nowak excels at both, achieving many awards throughout her high school career.
Reaching state is something that many can not say that they have made, but Nowak has gone to state not only once but twice, her junior and senior year. This year she placed 7th as part of the 400 freestyle relay team.
Nowak plans to continue her academic career at either the University of Alabama or UW Madison to major in Neuroscience. “I have maintained a good GPA while taking rigorous classes,” she said.
Doing all these things as a teenager is not easy and can be really overwhelming, but motivation is not a problem for her. “I am motivated by my family. Seeing them work hard every day motivates me to work hard in all areas of my life,” she said.
Not everything is strictly business for Nowak, her social life is very important in order to maintain a balance. “My favorite high school memory is having fun with my friends on the weekends,” she said.
