Kennedy Kapocius is a senior here at GHS and is no stranger to being an overachiever, as she is very involved in sports and many clubs, such as being a member of Student Council and Buddy Club.

“I have been involved in Buddy Club and Student Council this year. I love Buddy Club because it is so much fun getting to know other students at our school,” Kapocius said.

In and outside of GHS, Kapocius has earned many achievements for academic and extracurricular activities, recently being awarded the MY24 Scholarship this past February.

This award highlights Kennedy’s involvement in Greendale Poms, National Honor Society, being a two time All Star at Badgerette summer camp, performing at the Macy’s Day parade and much more!

“I was very excited after finding out about the MY24 Scholarship! I am so honored that I got to represent our school, and I will continue to acknowledge the process it took to achieve this kind of accomplishment!,” Kapocius said.

As one of the captains of the Poms team, Kapocius was faced with an important leadership role, even teaching junior Poms in her free time. “Over my high school career I have been a committed member of the Greendale Poms. Being a part of the poms team allowed me to make so many new friends and express my passion for dance in a welcoming and fun environment!” Kapocius said.

Traveling with the Poms team, Kapocius has had the opportunities to perform and create memories with her team. “One highlight of my senior year so far was traveling to Disney World with the Poms team. We had so much fun at the parks, and doing the parade in the rain at Magic Kingdom was surprisingly fun!,” Kapocius said. “However, I am especially looking forward to the opening of the musical, Legally Blonde! The cast and I have been working very hard, and we cannot wait to show off our work!”

This fall Kapocius plans to attend Marquette University to study elementary school education. “I decided to go to Marquette because I love the size of the school and that it is close to home,” Kapocius said. “I also am a huge fan of the basketball team, so I am excited to go to the games next year. I want to become a teacher because I have always loved helping others, and I love working with kids.”

As Kapocius looks back at her high school years, she offers some advice to underclassmen about their high school experience. “My advice for underclassmen is to take any chance you are given, and enjoy the moments. Time goes by very fast, so make sure you stop and take it all in,” Kapocius said. “The moments with your friends, teammates, or classmates don’t last forever. You never know how much fun you’re having until it’s over.”
