Winter break came to an end for GHS, and students say they had lots of fun over the break. Students needed a break during the school year, and winter break was the perfect time for that. Many hung out with friends, celebrated Christmas with family, went to parties for New Year’s Eve, and much more.
“My winter break was a lot of fun because I got to spend it with my friends,” sophomore Gracelyn Slock said. “My Christmas was very fun because I got to spend it with the people I love.”
Some people say parts of break were boring, but they still made the best of it. “I worked a lot during break, but I hung out with my friends when I could. For New Years I hung out with a lot of new people, so it was cool,” junior Lukas Gamroth said, “But I do wish I got more sleep over break. I kind of messed up my sleep schedule for school.”
“My favorite thing I did over winter break was going to look at Christmas lights at Candy Cane lane with my friends.I saw my friends almost everyday over break which was really fun, but I wish I wasn’t broke so I could’ve gone on a trip with my friends,” junior Elena Espinoza said. “On Christmas I saw my family and we had a good Christmas meal, and on nye I spent time with friends and it was really fun staying up until midnight for the countdown.”
“I did a lot of shopping over the break and had a really fun Christmas and New Year’s Eve, but I was disappointed that it didn’t snow for Christmas,” sophomore Josie Marshall said.
Not only students had lots of fun over winter break, but so did the teachers. “My break was fun. I spent a lot of time with my family,” social studies teacher Sarah Walczak said.
