It’s almost winter break, and that means Christmas is right around the corner. Students reminisce about the best and worst gifts they have ever got.
Many students say their best gift is a vacation they got to enjoy.
“One time I got to go on a trip to Disney World as a Christmas gift. That was very fun and memorable. I will never forget that gift and always appreciate the experience,” junior Sophia Carini said.
Students at GHS think that the best gifts that they have ever gotten were some type of technology.
“My best Christmas gift I have ever got was my AirPods, I use them all the time and it is very useful because I love to listen to music all the time,” sophomore Brady Lindholm said.
Other students also agree that technology is a very great gift to get for Christmas.
“A couple of years ago I got a new phone for Christmas which I was really happy about because my phone was starting to get really old and would die fast all the time,” senior Alex Holthaus said.
Students say that getting shoes is always the best because it’s fun being able to wear new shoes that can be worn for a long time.
“My best gift I ever got was my first pair of UGGs,” senior Yaremy Calzada “I got them from my brother and I was so excited because I had wanted them for a really long time. It was very a nice surprise and overall super thoughtful.”
Some students say the best gift they have ever received for Christmas is a vehicle.
“Once I had been surprised with a moped for Christmas and I was really happy to get that and I use it all the time,” junior Jon Lopez said.
Of course, there are always some gifts that are not so great. Students think certain family members always give the worst gifts.
“Last year my uncle gave me a really ugly sweater for Christmas,” senior Tess Zaja said. “I also don’t really see this uncle often so it’s not the first time he has gotten me a gift I would never use, but it’s the thought that counts.”
Students say the worst gifts they ever got were the gifts they got when they were little kids.
“When I was younger the worst gift I got was clothes,” freshman Cole Johnson said. “When I was little all I wanted to get was toys like monster trucks and Nerf guns so I was always disappointed to open a present and see I got clothes.”
Students also agree that in general clothes can be the worst gift to get for Christmas.
“Last year I got this pair of pajama pants that looked like it was for little kids and I didn’t like them at all,” freshman Bella Sincere said.
Overall, students at GHS are very excited for the upcoming holiday season to be able to get and give gifts.
