As graduation is coming near which has led to her goal of becoming a nurse.
“I am doing nursing because my mom was a nurse and I got my CNA and grew to love things in the medical field through my highschool classes,” LaPointe said.
This upcoming fall, she will attend Winona State University in Minnesota. Winona State has a very good reputation for their nursing program as well as a good study abroad.
“I have been to the campus one time and I think it is amazing. It is the perfect distance away that I can come home for holidays and maybe some weekends but I can also learn a new environment and meet new people,” LaPointe said. “I am very interested in doing a study abroad program my first year as well to experience new things and gain a new perspective on life.”
She is eager to broaden her horizons and immerse herself in a different culture which will provide her with rich and valuable experiences. LaPointe’s interest in studying abroad shows her desire to learn new things. She is excited to explore a new culture and see how living in another part of the world is. Experiences such as studying abroad can be beneficial because it helps develop a new perspective on life.
“I am hoping to study abroad my first year somewhere in Spain because it is a warmer environment and I know a couple people that have gone abroad there and they have loved it. I think it would be amazing because it has such a different vibe and culture from Wisconsin and it would benefit me so much,” LaPointe said.
After being in high school for four years, LaPointe has learned and experienced a lot. She has created long lasting memories through the soccer team, attending school events such as Prom and Homecoming, and being a part of the Student Council.
“One piece of advice I have for underclassmen is to involve yourself in as many clubs or organizations as you can because you will regret not doing anything and it’s so fun to be a part of things,” LaPointe said.
