The NFL Combine took place in Indianapolis from Feb 26 to March 1. The combine showcases the best rookies who get invited and want to participate, and showcases skills that would be used in the NFL and raw talent.
There were some pretty good performances from the LB group, including one of the best combines the NFL has ever seen. One of them included Ohio State star Sonny Styles. He is already pretty physically gifted, but now fans find out he is also very gifted in the game of football. He ran a 4.46sec 40yd dash which is comparable to Bijan Robinson who also ran a 4.46.
“This dude is a real freak of nature,” freshman Cayden Kelley said. “He is just as tall as Calvin Johnson and he is as fast as a running back. This dude could be actually insane just based on his physical skills. His combine was great too and the NFL ranks him as the #1 LB in the draft which isn’t too crazy to say.”
Some other standout performances include Taylen Green QB who put the entire NFL on notice after having a combine similar and better than Anthony Richardson who some consider the best QB combine of all time. Green ran a 4.36 40yd dash while Richardson ran a 4.43 40 time. Green also broke the record for highest vertical jump by a QB with 43.5 inches.
“I think Green could be a great QB if developed right,” freshman Nolan Isotalo said. “I think he is less of a project QB then Richardson was. Richardson wasn’t great in college he was alright but Taylen Green performed better than Richardson did. I think Richardson could still be good but I think Taylen Green could be better.”
If you watched CFB last year to see the incoming NFL prospects, you would think of Carnell Tate as a top 10 prospect, the way he was looking at Ohio State was a great route and deep ball guy. But at the combine he under performed by running a 4.53 40yd dash in college he was looking much faster which leads people to believe he might fall in the draft.
“I think Carnell Tate is a good receiver, there is just much he needs to work on,” Kelley said. “I thought he was gonna go out there and run one of the fastest combines this past week but I was mistaken and it makes me think he might get picked later in the first round than people thought before.”
Some of the best prospects in this next NFL draft have to include players like Jeremiah Love RB, Arvell Reese EDGE, Mansoor Delane CB, and David Bailey EDGE. These players have just shown out at the combine and were mostly in Heisman contention in college so they are pretty good and it shows.
This current class has been looking like it will be one of the best in recent history with all of the historic combine performances and that this is the fastest average 40yd time in combine history.
