The Greendale Panthers varsity boy’s golf team’s season is going well so far and it seems like everyone is contributing. The Panthers have taken first in the Woodland Conference in two of their matches and tied for first in the other one, so currently they are 3-0.
“I think my team’s season is going great so far. Every one of us is playing great right now,” junior Brady McCravens said.
Recently the weather has not been on the good side of the Panthers golf team. It has been rainy, windy, and even cold. All three of those kinds of weather can affect golf really badly. But sometimes the wind can help you hit the ball farther than usual.
“Weather has affected the matches a lot whether it is rain or very windy, and when playing golf all those things come into factor,” senior Collin Kramp said.
The team still has a lot of goals to meet that they have set for themselves. The Panthers are looking really good right now and hope to finish first in the entire conference. Individuals are hoping they can shoot a 40 or better consistently by the end of the season.
“Goal # 1 is to always win our side of the Conference. We have had medalists in each meet. For those guys, they have a real shot to make 1st or 2nd Team All-Conference,“ coach Christopher Muench said.
Kramp also has goals for the team. “Our team goal is to win the conference and go to sectionals as a team, my goal is to make first-team all-conference and qualify for sectionals individually,” he said.
McCravens also thinks they can win the conference. “Our team’s primary goals are to win the conference and then hopefully make it to sectionals at the end of the season. I personally hope that I can break a 40 on 9 holes this season and hopefully become all-conference,” he said.
Sophomore Charlie Sheridan also thinks the team can achieve their goal. “I want us to be able to shoot 45 or better consistently by the end of the season,” he said.
