As the weather gets colder and leaves turn orange, it’s that time of year for fall foods, drinks, and activities. Many students and teachers at Greendale High School participate in activities like pumpkin carving, dressing up for Halloween, going to apple orchards, and going to the fall festival right here in the Greendale Village.
“My favorite activity to do at the fall village festival is pumpkin carving because it’s a very classic tradition,” sophomore Clara Svaboda said.
Fall is a time for not only fun school events like homecoming and football games, but also outside activities. Family traditions play a special role in seasons, and a fan favorite is definitely pumpkin carving.
“Carving is so nostalgic and reminds me of my childhood,” sophomore Nora Griffin said. “I get my pumpkins from a pumpkin patch. The experience of going and picking one out makes it so much more special.”
Every year, there are new events and activities, including neighborhood ones and city-wide ones. Some in the Milwaukee area include Apple picking, pumpkin patches with corn mazes and petting zoos, and even limited edition food and drink stands at the Milwaukee Public Market. Some teachers with kids bring their children to family-friendly events.
“Every year, we do Spooktacular, which is a Halloween event in our neighborhood! Additionally, we will probably go to an apple orchard and get pumpkins!,” Science teacher Ms. Welsch said.
Overall, there are so many fun activities to do, including family-friendly, local, and outdoor ones! Whether you love to try new seasonal foods and drinks, dress up for Halloween, or go outside to a pumpkin patch, there are countless fall favorite activities.
