The girls soccer season is starting off strong, with one win against Whitnall and a tie against New Berlin Eisenhower. They have been showing great potential for this season and they can’t wait to play future games.
The girls were happy to start the season off with a win.
“The most exciting game of the season was Whitnall because it was our first game and we won,” junior Georgia Pluer said. “I am most proud of our team’s positivity and how we all get along so well.”
The girls on the team have an amazing bond and positive attitude, which is a great advantage.
“Something I’m most proud of this season is the way our team works together, on and off the field. I think we all really get along, and it makes for a fun environment,” sophomore Clara Langefield said.
Junior captain Zoe Bartz is very happy with how the team’s chemistry is and how well the team has worked together.
“We always have a really good pre-game talk, about our goals for the game and it always helps everyone have the right mindset. So far I think I’m most proud of how much our team chemistry has improved and how much each individual player contributes to the team,” she said.
Practices have been a struggle with the extreme weather conditions that have impacted the play and prevented many previous games.
“Since there have been a lot of thunderstorms lately it has impacted our practices. We have had a few practices where we had to move indoors since the field is wet. There has also been a game where we had to reschedule,” Bartz said.
Being motivated before games has been key to their success so far this season.
“What helps motivate the team before games is listening to music together, and our huddle we do before the game,” Pluer said.
Girls have been excited about the season and looking forward to seeing what else comes with it.
The most recent game was a loss against Hamilton Sussex, their next game will be against New Berlin West and the girls are looking forward to the upcoming competition.
