Sun or Snow, We’ll Never Know

Everyone knows Wisconsin’s weather is very unpredictable and crazy, but recently the weather has been extra inconsistent with the lack of snow and warm weather on random days. Since winter came a bit late for us this year, students hope summer weather comes early.

“Even though I like the snow, I need warm weather soon,” sophomore Gracelyn Slock said.

During the last weeks of February this year, it hit a high of 71 degrees one day and then snowed the next morning. “I didn’t believe the people that were saying it was gonna snow because it was so nice out that day, but I was shocked when I woke up the next morning and saw that the ground was covered in white,” junior Giancarlo Lechuga said.

Lots of people aren’t surprised by this weather since it happens basically every year, no matter what season it is. “Even though the weather is crazy this year, I’m not surprised by it. It’s just Wisconsin weather being Wisconsin weather,” sophomore Josie Marshall said.

Even though some students want warm weather soon, others like the weird weather that’s happening. “I honestly like how the weather in Wisconsin switches up a lot. Even though I like the summer a lot, I like that the months leading up to warm weather still give us snow and cooler weather. It’s like it’s more of something to look forward to for the warm months,” sophomore Joslyn Durocher said.

There was really good weather this past weekend, and students loved it. “I hung out with my friends and got to spend a lot of time outside. We took my dog on a walk on Saturday since it was so nice out,” freshman Maddie Gajewski said.

Although most students loved the nice weather and the feeling of summer being so soon, there are still some that want the cold weather still. “I love summer but I wish I could hit the slopes a few more times before snowboarding season ends,” sophomore Thomas Hanlon said.
