It’s official, the snow has started to fall, and the holiday cheer is near. Starbucks recently came out with its annual holiday menu, and everyone is raving about it.
Senior Sean Libal says he is excited to try the sugar cookie latte.
“I am a big fan of the holiday menu. I personally love the seasonal drinks, so I am glad they are here.” Libal said. “I think this year’s menu overall has been good, to be honest. I don’t see a ton of difference from previous years, but I think it is good every year, so it’s fine.”
Junior Cece Szweda thinks the peppermint mocha frappe is delicious.
“The next time I’m going, I will be getting that peppermint mocha frappuccino,” Szweda said. “I recommend the peppermint mocha no matter if it is iced, hot, a latte, or a frappuccino.”
However, some people don’t think so highly of the holiday menu, like senior Grace Witynski, who expressed how she was upset they didn’t have any refreshers to offer, like last year’s cranberry refresher.
“I don’t really drink coffee that much, so I don’t get a lot on the menu, which is why I was pretty disappointed I saw no refreshers,” Witynski said. “The sugar plum cheese danish on the holiday food menu looks really good, though, especially since they got rid of their old danishes.”
Sweda does not like the sugar cookie drink.
“They need to spice it up more because it tastes like a regular latte,” she said.
To brighten the dreary weather, Starbucks also held its Red Cup day on Nov. 13, where everyone who ordered a drink got a red cup with it. Not only that, but they also came out with a new bear cup that wears a hat.
“I wanted one of the bear cups so bad. I think they’re adorable, but they ran out so fast,” Witynski said. “I went to one, and by the time I got there, they were sold out, but they should be coming out with another new cup soon, so I am determined to get that one.”
Libal doesn’t understand the hype.
“Unfortunately, I did not go for Red Cup Day, but I do know my dad went to get one for my mom,” he said. “I mean, I personally don’t get the hype of the bear cup, but I think it’s cool for the people that like that.”
Overall, it seems that most people will be heading to Starbucks to get an item from the holiday menu.
