Summer is very close, and GHS students are looking forward to all sorts of things going on during the warm months. Lollapalooza is a multiple day affair and is one of the world’s largest and most iconic annual music festivals from July 30-August 2 in Chicago.
Many students are attending this summer for their first time.
“I’m really excited for Lolla this summer,” senior Sophia Carini said. “My friends went previous years and they said it was a super fun time, so I bought the 4 day pass.”
Other students have gone for the past few years and will be attending again this summer.
“I always look forward to Lollapalooza each summer,” senior Zayd Cartagena said. “I always get the 4 day pass, because I would always recommend everyone to see as many artists as they can.”
Students have artists they are most excited to see such as John Summit, Olivia Dean, Lorde, Charli XCX, The XX, and Tate Mcrae.
“I’m very excited to see John Summit because he is my favorite DJ of all time and has the best remixes,” senior Eva Sula said.
“I’m most excited to see Olivia Dean because she is my favorite music artist,” Carini said.
Lots of people that go to Lollapalooza love to dress up.
“For John Summit’s concert I am going to be wearing sparkly jean shorts with a cool belt and a denim top,” Sula said.
“I am going to wear brown leather shorts with a white top one day and then black shorts and a cheetah print top with a head scarf a different day,” Carini said.
Some people stay overnight so they don’t have to drive all the way home and come back the next day.
“My friends and I will be staying in an air B&B for two nights and split the cost equally, ” Cartagena said. Our air B&B contains three rooms and also has a pool so we are very excited to stay there,” Cartagena said.
