Summer is almost here and that means Summerfest is stating soon, and students are really excited for it. Summerfest starts June 22 and it goes on for three weeks. When the reports came out of who was performing some students were not very happy but they still plan to go.
“I don’t listen to the performers that are coming to Summerfest but I am still going to go because I enjoy hanging out with friends and being in the mosh pits,” senior Ahmed Gamar said. “People don’t really know many people that are performing this year as it is mostly country this year. I am sure it’s still going to be really fun.”
A big performer this year that people are really excited to see is Don Toliver. He is probably the most popular hip hop artist this year at Summerfest. Another big performer that people are excited to see is Post Malone. Post Malone is big in the hip hop industry, as he has been making music for some years now.
Summerfest in total lasts three weekends and there are some people who go every day it is open.
“I go to Summerfest every weekend because it is open because it’s really enjoyable and it’s fun to see a lot of people getting around and having great times,” senior Tyler Roche said.
“I have been going to Summerfest every year since I was about 12 years old. My family goes all the time and I just end up going right along with them, but I have fun every time I go,” senior Charlie Sheridan said. “There are a lot of concerts and bands that go there but I don’t really know a lot of them so if it is someone I don’t know I will either just walk around because I don’t really like listening to people I don’t know.”
Some people go there from open to close which seems to be a really long time but when you are having fun it’s really not that bad.
“When I go I would not say I stay from open to close but I do go pretty early and do stay there til it is closed,” junior Daniel Vekic said.
