GHS Students Perform at Pops Concert

GHS+Students+Perform+at+Pops+Concert

Every year, the music department hosts a Pops Concert to show off the amazing music groups at GHS. The Greendale orchestra, band, and all the different choir groups performed at this concert.

This concert is always a big hit, and this year they sold out their first concert at 4 pm, and the second one at 7 pm was very close to being sold out.

The Pops Concert is super fun because we get to play recognizable tunes, and make a whole evening of it with two concerts and dinner in between.  It also gives students a chance to hear their friends who are in different music groups at GHS,” orchestra director Britney Whiting said.

Many different types of music are played at the concert which gives the audience a wide variety of music to listen to.

“I like being in the Pops Concert because we sing songs that can be heard on the radio and it is a very fun concert.  My favorite song was the Boy Band medley that the men’s choir performed,” senior choir member Lauryn Sheasley said.

“We sing a lot of popular songs. I’m in G-Harm and Concert Chorale and we sang, ‘Your on Your Own kid’, by Taylor Swift, and ‘Landslide’, by Fleetwood Mac,” junior Olivia Vitrano said.
The band and orchestra also played a good variety of music.

My favorite song was either ‘Shake It Off’ from G-Harm or ‘Aladdin’ from the Philharmonic Orchestra,” senior orchestra and G-Harm member Grace Uremovich said.

This concert is a good way to bring all the groups together and create a fun and encouraging environment for all the different music groups.

“This concert is different from others because we get to see so many other groups perform and you get to spend time with lots of different people,” Uremovich said.
