After a very stressful but successful senior year, parents and students are excited to celebrate their achievement of graduating high school. But not every student is doing the same thing. Some are taking a trip with their families, having a graduation party with their friends and family and some are just doing something as simple as just going out for dinner.
“I don’t want to do anything after graduation but my parents are taking my friends and I to eat after then I’m going to have some people over at night for a bonfire,” senior Isaiah Ramirez said.
Graduation parties come in many different shapes and sizes, with most people just having simple parties, but there are some that are going crazy inviting a lot of people and renting out places to host their graduation party.
“My grad party is just going to be simple with just a couple of friends, my family and my parents’ friends. Mostly people are just going to stop in and congratulate me and grab some food, basically it,” senior Jack Bauer said.
“I scheduled my graduation party later in the summer because I wanted to make sure everyone I know will be there, “As my graduation gift my mom rented me a place in Caledonia and I can invite as many people as I want while keeping it reasonable. I hope to receive a lot of gifts and money from everyone that comes,” senior Gabriel Torres said.
Yet not everything is all good about grad parties, students are stressed about the date of their party because other people are also having theirs on the same day.
“My parents picked a date that worked for them and my grandparents, I’m not mad at them but it’s just kind of annoying that some of my friends can’t come or I can’t go to some of theirs because of mine. I don’t know if people are even going to come to mine because there is so many other parties that day,” senior Isabel Schrank said.
