Don Toliver finally dropped his long awaited album OCTANE and fans have been loving this new drop from him.
The album came out on Jan. 30 and included features from people such as Yeat, Travis Scott, and Teezo Touchdown. He has been teasing this album for a long time, and released the first single for this album back on Sept 5. of 2025.
“My favorite songs were ‘Body’ and ‘ATM’,” freshman Cayden Kelley said. “I think the way he put out ‘ATM’ before the album made it be one of the feature songs on the album. But ‘Body’ was also great, the way he sampled the Rock Your Body just went so well with the album and how it has been sounding.”
This album has to be very good to match how good his last album Hardstone Psycho was. This album has standout songs such as ‘Body’, ‘E85’, ‘Tiramisu’, ‘ATM’, and ‘Secondhand’. This may not be one of his best albums but it is still pretty good.
“I think this album is slightly worse than Hardstone Psycho,” Kelley said. “Hardstone Psycho I feel like had more songs for all genres and more songs in general. I think Octane would be better if the deluxe comes out soon with like 5-8 more good songs like Hardstone Psycho did.”
Octane was Toliver’s first album to debut #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. Which is a huge accomplishment for him especially because this album was almost just him in every song.
“My top three songs off of the album were, ‘E85,’ ‘Rosary,’ and ‘Rendezvous,’” freshman Anna Moore said. “I think ‘E85’ is one of the best opener songs because it goes hard on the first listen and it sounds cool while listening to and driving. I also said ‘Rosary’ because it has one of my other favorite artists Travis Scott and it is a really chill late night song. Finally I said ‘Rendezvous’ because I listen to it while I study, and it has great chemistry between Yeat and Toliver.”
Toliver is going to be at this year’s summerfest on June 19th with other artists like Sahbabii who is also on OCTANE, Che, SoFaygo, Sosocamo, Chase B, and Lelo. Those are just the support artists for his show and fans could go and expect to hear some of his classics and some of his new hit songs.
With all this about Don Toliver there have been rumors he will make a collab album with Travis Scott, who is another artist on his label Cactus Jack. They already have lots of songs together and they have all been really good with Toliver being a perfect duo to Scott.
