The 2026 Summerfest lineup was just released, and students and teachers are excited to see their favorite music artists in person. The lineup seems to indicate that non-hip-hop/rap music listeners are more likely to go see some great country singers, since past years’ lineups have been mostly about hip-hop/rap.
Many are excited to see the rising American country music singer Megan Moroney.
“I do like the Summerfest line-up, as they picked people to perform that most of my friends and I know. I am most excited to see Megan Moroney perform this summer. She is one of my favorite artists,” sophomore Claire Hegedus said.
Some students are upset that the artist that were talked about earlier this year weren’t in the lineup. The students who listen to rap are also upset that there are only two rap artists on the main stage.
“I wish that they could’ve Babychiefdoit because it would be a really hype concert, especially in Milwaukee,” senior Charlie Sheridan said.
When people react to a Summer Fest lineup, both big headliners and smaller performers matter because those are the artists coming out before the big artists. Some people prefer to go to the side stages to avoid the big crowds and the costs.
“I’m going to want to see a band I know at some point in the night – whether they’re headlining or playing earlier in the day – doesn’t really matter to me. Also, if I go that day, I’d rather spend the day catching more music rather than just showing up in time for the artist I want to see,” choir teacher Michael Jones said.
Milwaukee Summerfest’s big headliners are: Megan Moroney, Don Toliver, Carin Leon, Ed Sheeran, Cody Johnson, Post Malone, Muse, Alex Warren, and Jelly Roll.
“I’d love to see Ed Sheeran live – From everything I’ve seen and heard, he’s an incredible live performer. It’s also fun to watch people improvise and change things up as they go, which he’s able to do easily with his heavily acoustic, loop pedal layering style,” Jones said.
