This year’s prom is coming up on May 22 and Student Council members have put in a lot of work to make this prom happen. The grand march will begin at the high school at 5:00 and the dance starts at 7 pm, at the Italian Community Center.
Student council members, juniors Olivia Trentadue and Dana Flink have organized the ticket selling. The tickets cost $80 each.
“We sold close to 350 tickets. We wish it was a little more because last year we sold close to 500,” Trentadue said.
The theme for prom is A Night in Rio and it is a huge deal because some people use the theme to figure out what kind of prom dress to get.
“We all mutually decided on the theme because we thought the colors would be cool. It will be a lot of colors, palm trees, and super fun table decor,” Trentadue said.
The council thinks everyone will like the dinner.
“We are serving Pasta or chicken. Drinks will be served in cans besides water. No buffet, definitely sit down,” Flink said.
The Italian Community Center was a big hit last year so that’s why they decided to book the place again.
“We picked the Italian Community Center for dance because it’s the cheapest and the DJ will be DJ Mando,” Flink said.
They have a lot of things to be excited for.
“We are most excited to hangout and take pics with our friends at the Botanical garden,” Trentadue said.
Juniors are super excited for this upcoming prom.
“I can’t wait for my first prom and getting to wear a super fancy dress that I love. I’m also happy with the food options, so I chose pasta,” junior Maggie Abedini said.
“I have heard so many good things about prom from the grades above so it makes me super excited to get to experience it this year, although I do think the tickets are a little pricey but other than that I am happy,” junior Baley Sowa said.
