The 2025–26 UEFA Champions League semifinals have arrived, and the excitement building up for the final is rising. With Bayern Munich facing Paris Saint‑Germain and Atlético Madrid taking on Arsenal, students say this year’s tournament feels especially unpredictable. THere are a lot of GHS students who can’t wait for the semifinals to begin
“I enjoy watching UCL because anything can happen,” he said. “It keeps me at the edge of my seat, and there are new surprises every year,” says senior David Acamovic. Those surprises might come quickly in the Bayern–PSG matchup. PSG enters the tie with momentum, confidence, and a system that has clicked all season.
Enrique has really cemented himself as a world-class manager over the last year. He decided to get rid of superstar Kylian Mbappe and start fresh with a bunch of new young talent. He then led this new PSG team to their first Champions League title.“I would trust Luis Enrique because he has just won the Champions League. Right now, his system is working really well and not looking to slow down,” says freshman Moiz Waqas.
But Bayern aren’t arriving quietly. With Harry Kane leading the line and Michael Olise emerging as one of Europe’s most dangerous creators, Bayern have the firepower to win it all.
“I think Dembélé and Doue will make the difference for PSG,” he said. “And for Bayern, Harry Kane and Olise will show up big time. I think it will be a very competitive two legs,” junior Nathan Takawira said.
“The way Olise cuts in on his left and finesses it to the top corner is so deadly, I think Olise’s efforts can carry Bayern to the UCL Final,” says senior Nemanja Ajder. Olise has helped Bayern roll through tough games, and in the media he is currently the favourite for the Balon’dor. He will have a tough challenge against PSG’s left-back; Nuno Mendes, who has been known to shut down threats on the right wing in major games.
Across the bracket, Atlético Madrid and Arsenal bring an entirely different matchup. With Arsenal attempting to make the difference with set pieces, Diego Simeone’s Atletico side aims to sit back in defense and strike on the counter, as they did against Barcelona. With four elite clubs, world-class talent on both sides, and two finals spots on the line, fans can all agree that this year’s semi-final is as unpredictable as ever.
